Andre Iguodala is considered to be one of those players who just can’t go wrong for whichever team he is a part of. He will adapt to the requirements of his teammates, big you buckets when your main guys are on the bench, become a floor general when required and when push comes to shove, he will lock down the greatest player on the opposing team.
And that is why even though Iguodala is 35-years-old, he is considered a valuable asset to have for franchises all over the NBA.
Ever since getting picked by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2004 Draft, he has played both alongside and against some of the greatest basketball talent in modern-era basketball and has managed to stay afloat.
The 2015 NBA Finals MVP and former Golden State Warriors Small Forward was invited as a guest on the NBA countdown show and asked about who he thought was more difficult to guard, Los Angeles Lakers Forward LeBron James or Los Angeles Clippers Forward, Kawhi Leonard. Here’s what he had to say:
“I go with LeBron [James] because I think he raises the level for the other four guys on his team. Like when you see those guys go play in other places, it’s like where did they go. But, when they are out there on the court with LeBron [James] it like I have to keep my eye on this guy,” he said.
On the contrary to Igoudala, Jalen Rose picked Kawhi Leonard. “Right now, I’m going to say Kawhi [Leonard] because he is a lot more efficient in different areas, shooting the three, mid-range, scoring at the rim, and we know he is a lockdown defender. That’s my choice,” said Rose.
While Jay Williams found himself siding with Iguodala.
“I’m going to go with LeBron [James] because between assists and points, he combines for 53 points per game. Dre you said it, Paul [Pierce] said it, he gets a lot of people paid. Like he makes average players look tremendous I go with LeBron [James],” said Williams.
