With a 3-14 losing record, the Golden State Warriors are currently the worst team in all of the National Basketball League, yes, worse than the New York Knicks.
They were recently humiliated by the Dallas Mavericks with a 48 points beat down. And while the minimum active players’ requirement for an NBA franchise is eight, the Dubs currently have a nine-player roster.
The tables have turned on them and how. They are hit with an injury bug as each one of their All-Stars – Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell are out of action.
Many haters of the squad wished injury on this team during their dream run that spanned for half a decade because of the ultra-talented roster they had formed over the years and it felt almost unfair for the rest of the 29 teams. Well, it seems that their wishes have come true as this year has been horrible for San Francisco.
First they lost Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson in the 2018-19 NBA Finals and Stephen Curry during the first week of the 2019-2020 regular season. Then the owners spent a fortune on building the new Chase Center arena which saw the team to the bottom of the league.
Former Sacramento Kings Center Willie Cauley-Stein took a huge pay cut to be a part of the team with the hopes of winning a championship ring early in his career but even his dreams came crashing down as bad fortune followed the Warriors on every turn this season.
With no back-to-back wins yet this season, and with one of the worst defensive ratings in the league (yes, worse than the Knicks, again) the Dub Nation can only hope to get over with this season as soon as possible.
However, looking on the bright side, Warriors fans are hopefully and see a few postives in the next season from this team, regardless of the current state of affairs. Eric Paschall has emerged as the leading scorer for this “G-League” squad, which is projected to get a top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Having known for boasting a support system that develops players and takes them to the next level a lot more efficiently than the rest of the league, maybe they draft LaMelo Ball and build him into a better player than his brother and New Orleans Pelicans Point Guard, Lonzo Ball.
