The 2019 NBA Finals was more of a living nightmare for the Golden State Warriors franchise and their fanbase as the team which was a dynasty not too long ago, got humbled by major injuries one NBA All-Star after another.
Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, the faces that led the Dub Nation to back to back titles, became preys of the grueling world of basketball so bad that they not only had to watch all their effort go to waste as Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors won their solitary title over them, Curry and Thompson also had to sit out for the entire season that followed and watch their team lurking at the bottom of the barrel of the NBA points table.
During the off season, Durant split ways with the Warriors, to join forces with Kyrie Irving and Deandre Jordan at the Brooklyn Nets, a team while struggling right now, is destined to lead the East next season, when one of the best offensive players in KD returns to the court.
Going back to the NBA Finals 2019, Durant went down with a torn achilles tendon during Game 5, in Toronto, as the ruthless fans of the opposing side cheered his departure.
But now, after spending nine months in rehabilitation, Durant has started getting some ground under his feet, his Achilles, more willing to take the pressure of his legs once again.
Recently, Hoop Central uploaded a video of the two-time NBA Finals MVP getting back to his usual self on the court and sinking one shot after another from long distance just like we were used to seeing him not too long ago.
While his spot up catch and shoot has always been good, Durant can also be seen working on his pull-up jumpers with a little bit of pressure defense.
Just in June 2019, Durant had his foot hanging from his ankle with no muscle supporting the weight. It wasn’t possible for him to walk and the nervousness of the future can get the better of the best of us. For him to fight over all these problems and make such remarkable progress has to be a sign for the good things to come both for Durant and the Nets organisation.
