‘Kareem Abdul McGEE’: A Mic’d Up Dwight Howard Is The Best Thing You Will See Today

Updated: Jan 17, 2020

With the new season of the NBA still in its early days, there are multiple narratives that we need to follow. The Golden State Warriors are the worst team in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics are on top of their respective conferences after ages and the way some of the “older” players of the league have made a comeback, it makes us feel like we are experiencing time travel!

One such case is that for the Lakers Center Dwight Howard, who has mysteriously found his mojo back after shedding 25 pounds (11.5 kg approx) before signing with the franchise.

He not only showed that his back was healthy again but has been consistent as a rim protector averaging 1.9 blocks per game and has come through for purple and gold on numerous occasions as his team currently sits on a seven-game winning streak.

For someone who used to be the face of the franchise during his days of prime with the Orlando Magic, it must have been difficult for Howard to accept himself as nothing more than a role player for a roster led by names like Lebron James and Anthony Davis but he looks completely in his skin and rather enjoying his time on the court.

“Man I been playing basketball for 30 years. And I have never felt so much joy. The joy of the most high is my strength. Let’s keep it goin fellas,” he even captioned one of his Instagram posts.

We know that the 33-year-old is a great prankster, has a great sense of humour and just loves to have a good time. So when he was made to wear a mic during the Lakers match against the Miami Heat, Los Angeles was in for a show.

It’s just great to watch someone like Howard, who’s been through so much, struggled to show it to the world that he’s still got it, finally find a good team around him that lets him play his game and helps him taste victory more often than he was used to.
