It has only been three games into the season and the ‘Kyrie Irving drama’ has already started.
According to an ESPN report, Kyrie Irving’s “mood swings” have been a growing concern in the Brooklyn Nets organisation. Sources have stated that sometimes Irving would shut down and not communicate with the coaches, teammates and also the front office.
One recent event occurred during the Nets preseason trip to China when he didn’t respond to anyone for a couple of days but in his defense he just travelled to China and realised that earth isn’t flat and needed time to get his head around it.
The team is hoping that Kyrie’s behaviour can be kept in check by the return of Kevin Durant as they are “best friends”. However, I don’t see how a superstar with the thinnest skin ever (replying to random people through his burner accounts) can help the front office in this situation.
It seems like nothing and no situation can satisfy both Kyrie and Durant as it was reported before the season that Durant was unhappy with the Golden State Warriors’ emphasis on ball movement rather than iso-ball and during his Oklahoma City Thunder days KD stated that he would like the team to adopt ball movement as iso-ball attracted more attention to him.
When asked about the Nets Head Coach denied the reports and made no comments.
