After the Los Angeles Clippers’ heartbreaking loss to the Denver Nuggets, the NBA world is still trying to come to terms with all that's been happening inside ‘the Bubble’.
As expected Stephen A Smith blasted Max Kellerman in the First Take episode next morning coming down furiously on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and rightfully so, after all the Clippers were the best team on paper, their depth was unmatched and they had two superstars to guide them through while being coached by Doc Rivers.
This however, didn't translate on court.
Stephen A then sparked a Twitter backlash and controversy after he said that Paul George was on his way to becoming the next Dwight Howard. Los Angeles Lakers Forward and Dwight's teammate Kyle Kuzma was quick to respond taking shots at Stephen A.
But does this take actually have some weight? Is Paul George really becoming the next Dwight Howard?
As far as I believe, NO.
When we talk about Howard, we talk about a future Hall of Famer and a superstar who defeated LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals and led his team to the NBA Finals while being the best player in the Orlando Magic.
Combine this with his ‘Defensive Player of the Year’ three-peat and Block titles, and who knows he could've gone for more if his back hadn't given up on him.
Paul George on the other hand isn't even close. Is he a star? Yes but is he as good as the prime Dwight Howard? A big no.
The bar for George is pretty high here and not showing up in the Finals while being supported by the best on paper team of the league sure doesn't help his case, especially if Dwight wins a ring with LeBron.
But that doesn't matter because even if he doesn't, Paul George definitely has a long way to go before we can draw comparisons between Howard and him.
Sorry Stephen A, but you were wrong this time!
